Imogen Cooper Music Trust
Donations Policy
Last updated: Saturday, 22 November 2025
The Imogen Cooper Music Trust accepts donations for purposes that further our charitable objectives, which are to promote knowledge and appreciation of the arts, particularly the art of music for the benefit of the public. We achieve this principally through holding high-level, intensive masterclass courses for exceptional young musicians.
Donations are either restricted (e.g. for a particular scholar, concert or Trust week), or unrestricted (for the general work of the Trust), and must support the Trust’s objectives. Conflicts of interest will be avoided in the Trust’s fundraising activities, and no volunteer, trustee or employee will engage in fundraising activities that are a personal or professional conflict of interest.
The Trust is governed by a board of Trustees and no donors are allowed to unduly influence the policies or actions of the Trust. In particular, once a donation is accepted it is the Trustees’ responsibility to decide how the funds are used, while respecting any prior agreed restrictions.
The Trustees are responsible for making sure that any material donations comply with the law and will refuse any that appear to be questionable, but they acknowledge that some small donations are anonymous.
This policy will be made available on our website, and will next be reviewed on: 23 September 2026
